In my opinion, this is the best restaurant in the Pawling area. It has been written up in the NY Times and I've celebrated many birthdays and special events at McKinney & Doyle. They also have a phenomenal bakery where you can eat in or take out fabulous cakes, pies, cookies, bagels, rolls, coffee and much more. They also serve old fashioned milk shakes. If you come to Pawling, make sure to stop here!

American w/live Music

Do you remember the singers Hall and Oates? This is a super venue for food and entertainment owned by singer Daryl Hall. People often travel from NYC to Pawling just to catch a show/dinner as this venue. I highly recommend it!

Many visitors stay late into the evening and book rooms in one of the Pawling Bed & Breakfast establishments.

  • Edward R. Murrow Park

    • Great trails to hike on. You'll often find me walking my black lab on the trails. On the back side of the park are little league baseball fields and a lighted softball field. The lights on the softball field were dedicated to my father, Donald Tanner.

  • Appalachian Trail

    • The Appalachian Trail runs from Georgia to Maine and happens to run right through Pawling. It's a great place to hike. You can see a pic of my black lab on the Pawling section of the Trail on the ABOUT ME section

Libraries

  • Pawling Free Library

    • A wonderful community resource. Join a book club, read and more...

  • Akin Free Library

    • Located on historic quaker hill, this is quite an unusual library and worth the trip. The building's architecture alone is magnificent. When you have time, plan to visit!

Lodging

  • Pawling House Bed & Breakfast

    • In the early 2000's, two wonderful women came to me with interest in starting a bed & breakfast in Pawling. Our search ultimately culminated in a Village home that was in a alarming state of disrepair. After much hard work the result is the charming Pawling House Bed & Breakfast. Privacy and situated next to a babbling brook, it's a 5-10 minute walk to the center of the Village. Book a room by clicking here!

  • Station Inn Pawling

    • Located very close to the Pawling Train station and right in the center of the Village of Pawling.
